Amnesia Ibiza opened its doors for the first time back in 1976 following the idea of the venue being used a peaceful place to forget your problems, let yourself go and leave your troubles behind, also known as “The Workshop of Forgetfulness”.
The word Amnesia is taken from the Greek etymology meaning “to forget”, making it the perfect word to express the ideology of the club. With this, the notorious Amnesia was born and has since played host to (ironically) some unforgettable parties.
Located close to the village of San Rafael on the highway between San Antonio and Ibiza Town, Amnesia is undoubtedly one of the most internationally renowned and iconic nightclubs of Ibiza.
Amnesia is divided into two separate rooms that usually present a different line-up every night - The Club Room is the darker of the two and home to the purest techno music and the infamous Cocoon parties, which, to everyone's happiness, is set to return this summer. The Club Room also hosts to outrageous foam parties and known for having erupting ice cannons that mystify the dancefloor throughout the night.
The Terrace, instead, is a larger open plan room where some of the most spectacular shows are celebrated such as Together, Abode and Elrow.
Dance from midnight until the sunrise when the glass roof streams glorious sunlight onto the shining dancers. With an illuminated room and the music still pumping, this is a magical moment that clubbers can share.
